The opportunity

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Intermediate Accountant to join our busy Business Services and Management Accounting team. Working within a fast-paced environment you will be involved with a diverse range of clients across different industries both in our office and off-site. 

Responsibilities will include assisting in the preparation of accounting advice, performing audit testing and providing tax support by:

  • Identifying and gathering information in support of accounting transactions
  • Assisting with interim and year end statutory audits
  • Preparing tax reconciliations and year end tax lodgments
  • Assisting with the preparation of financial statements to review stage
  • Performing audit testing to help assess clients’ internal controls

Your role as an Intermediate accountant will see you working on multiple engagements to ensure professional and timely completion of the assignments.  This role will provide a unique opportunity blending business and tax advisory with management accounting and international tax, across a diverse array of Australian and international businesses.

The role as an Intermediate accountant, will require you to collaborate closely with our partners and managers, as well as provide guidance and mentoring to our junior accountants and such assist with reviewing and delegating work. Your experience and attributes

To be considered for this role you must be a motivated, CA or CPA qualified (or near qualified) individual with at least 2 years accounting experience along with external audit and tax experience. You will have solid technical and analytical abilities, excellent communication skills, concise report writing ability and enjoy working as part of a small close-knit team. 

The ideal candidate will have excellent time management and organizational skills and a confident manner with the ability to work autonomously. You will be an inquisitive critical thinker to whom professional skepticism comes naturally.

Experience with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel is essential and experience with CaseWare advantageous.

As you will be required to travel to various clients a driver’s license and ownership of a car is favourable.
